Nearly a year after her disappearance, Los Angeles police have arrested two people in connection with the death of Christina Downer, the late sister of Saturday evening live writer Jimmy Fowlie.
On Thursday, officers arrested Delorean Bijon Brandon, 41, believed to be Downer’s boyfriend, and Kaylee Markowski, 34, for allegedly murdering and disposing of her body, before covering up their involvement.
Both Brandon and Markowski are being held at the Metropolitan Detention Center, where they have been booked on suspicion of murder and are both being held on $2 million bail.
According to LAPD, Brandon claimed Downer left their home several months before she disappeared, leaving behind all of her belongings, including her vehicle and dog.
Downer’s family reported her missing on December 18, 2025, following a welfare check requested by her ex-husband after he had not heard from her for a long period of time. Detectives from the LAPD’s Robbery-Homicide Division took over the investigation when his cell phone was discovered washed up on a beach in Santa Monica.
Last December, Fowlie enlisted the help of friends and supporters as he searched Downer’s Koreatown neighborhood, noting that they were “worried she wasn’t safe.” Fowlie announced in April that the LAPD had informed the family that Downer was “no longer alive” and was treating the case as a homicide.
