HomeView 27.2 Software: Wallpapers, Control Center and More

Apple today released HomeView 27.2 software, which is the software that runs on the upcoming HomeView device scheduled to launch on November 13.

The HomeView was announced earlier in October, but the first version of the software gives us a glimpse of features like wallpapers and reveals some information we didn’t know before.

Wallpapers

There are 20 default wallpapers to choose from on HomeView, with a range of colors. Users will also likely be able to set their own photo wallpaper. HomeView uses faces, but wallpapers can be displayed on the home screen.

Face Editing

Guilherme Rambo shared an image of HomeView’s face editing interface, where users can choose the design they want to use on HomeView’s lock screen.

Hello screen

Upon startup, HomeView will display the familiar β€œHello” text.

Control center

A HomeView setup animation shows Control Center on HomeView.

Light and dark mode

As with other Apple devices, the HomeView will have light mode and dark mode options, with the device able to automatically switch between modes depending on the time of day.

Snoopy

The HomeView has many different Snoopy animations if you choose the Snoopy face.

Launcher

Unlike iOS, HomeView does not use SpringBoard. It has a new launcher called BreadBoard and its Control Center UI process is called CupBoard.

iOS26

There’s a HomeView Software 26 graphic hidden in the update, which adds to the evidence that Apple wanted to release HomeView early but had to wait for Siri AI. Apple also appears to have tested the interface on a sixth-generation iPad mini ahead of launch.

The HomeView costs $299 and can be pre-ordered on Apple’s website. It will launch alongside the fourth-generation Apple TV 4K on November 13.
