Social media users wasted no time and many commenters had no sympathy for whoever was responsible for the alleged smell.

“I would do exactly what you did!!! Spray the stinky foot!!!” » another applauded.
One commenter called for a much harsher punishment, writing: “They should have been escorted off the plane. »

A self-described former flight attendant also criticized passengers who treat plane armrests like personal footrests.
“As a former flight attendant, when I saw people putting their feet on the armrest. I immediately told them no, this is not their home. Respect the plane and the people around you. That’s such a mean F. I would have hit their foot with my elbow.”
But amid the outrage, others questioned whether Decker actually sprayed a stranger — or whether the mystery foot belonged to her husband, Eric Decker, a former NFL wide receiver. The couple married in 2013.
