Minka Kelly and Dan Reynolds have reportedly called it quits.
THE Ransom Canyon The actress and the Imagine Dragons frontman have ended their relationship after four years together, according to Weekly Entertainmentthe sister publication of, PEOPLE. A source close to the couple said the breakup “happened recently.”
EW has reached out to reps for Kelly and Reynolds for confirmation.
The couple began dating in 2022, shortly after Reynolds divorced his wife of 11 years, Aja Volkman, with whom he shares four children. Kelly and the musician were introduced by a mutual friend and spoke on the phone for more than a month before finally meeting in person, Reynolds told PEOPLE in 2024.
Reynolds would send Kelly demos of his music, while she would send him drafts of her memoir, Tell me everythingwhich was eventually published in 2023. (The book follows her experience of being raised by a single mother struggling with addiction, before Kelly became successful Friday Night Lights.)
“She said, ‘Well, if you want to share your art, I can share something with you, but it’s very vulnerable for me. Do you want to do that or not?'” Reynolds recalls to PEOPLE. “She was very afraid of me reading the book because we hadn’t met, just as much as I was afraid of her hearing a song I had written. But we shared it and it ended up being a really beautiful thing and brought us much closer. I think it helped us both understand each other more deeply quite quickly.”
When they finally met face to face, the connection was instant. “I’ve never had this kind of introduction to anyone,” Reynolds admitted.
Just this summer, Kelly shared an update on her life with Reynolds, which appeared in her “my morning routine” Instagram video. She also posted an Instagram carousel of photos highlighting their family trip to Disneyland with Reynolds’ kids. “No place I’d rather be 💗,” Kelly then captioned the post.

“The kids really love Minka and really love their mom, and that’s OK,” the singer told PEOPLE of his co-parenting dynamic. “We see it as a kind of bonus for the family: more people to love, more people to help.”

Kelly, who previously dated Jesse Williams and Derek Jeter, posted a sweet message to Reynolds for his birthday last July.
“Thank you for making ordinary days extraordinary, for making me laugh until I couldn’t breathe and for loving so deeply and freely,” she shared alongside photos of the couple. “Celebrating you is one of my favorite things to do. I love you, Dan. Happy birthday ♥️.”
