14 people arrested on Glenwood Avenue during Halloween celebrations :: WRAL.com

Arrest records showed Raleigh police arrested 14 people on Glenwood Avenue Saturday evening and Sunday morning.

WRAL crews observed thousands of people along the popular neighborhood Saturday night for Halloween.

Over the past 48 hours, Raleigh police records show at least 15 people have been taken into custody, with charges ranging from simple fighting to resisting a public officer to being intoxicated to carrying a concealed weapon.

Seven of these people were charged with simple affray. Court records describe people hitting each other with fists and hands in the middle of the street.

At least a dozen gun-related charges were filed in the downtown area between Friday and Saturday.

Saturday’s arrests came months after dozens of people were arrested in connection with July 4 violence in the Glenwood South and Brier Creek areas. About 5,000 people gathered in Glenwood South that night, where the unrest prompted Raleigh officials to consider a youth curfew. The proposal was ultimately abandoned.

WRAL has reached out to the Raleigh Police Department for more information, including whether any officers were injured.
