Undiscovered Star Wars secret finally found, the developer who hid it: ‘It’s been 3 and a half years’

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor was released in 2023 and is a very good game with fun Easter eggs and hidden references. But one secret remained hidden, even after the developer who included it in the third-person action game teased fans about it online. Now, someone has finally figured out the secret after entering the Konami code into a menu.

In 2025, Respawn UI Director Jordan DeVries posted a cryptic message on social media about a secret buried within Jedi: Survivor that the players had not yet found. “Imagine sending a (submitted, approved) UI easter egg into your game that no one has noticed or found yet,” the developer posted last year. This has prompted some players to dig around Soulslike Star Wars continuation for this hidden secret. But no one has apparently found it until now, according to DeVries.

On November 1, DeVries shared on social media that Twitter user TowerBunga found the Easter egg after entering the famous Konami code into the Force upgrade menu in Jedi: Survivor. And once you enter correctly, a giant space frog appears and eats a strange moon in the sky. It’s a weird but fun secret that took three years to uncover.

On Reddit, DeVries responded to the news that the well-hidden secret had been discovered. “It’s been three long years…”

I always love when fans discover secrets and Easter eggs in games years after release. This reminds us that there are probably many, many secrets still buried in games, just waiting to be discovered by someone. It’s also a wonderful reminder that even though it seems like the internet has everything cataloged in every game, there’s still some mystery left. Who knows? One day you might come across something no one has seen before in an old game, and your discovery might end up as a blog on Kotaku dot com.
