Angel Reese Reveals Breakup With Podcast After WNBA Season: ‘I’m Devoting This Offseason To Myself’

After a long WNBA season that ended with the Atlanta Dream losing in the finals, Angel Reese plans to spend her offseason recovering and improving.

That means she’ll be taking time off from her podcasts as she “dedicates this offseason to me,” she announced Monday on Instagram.

Reese is coming off the best season of his young career, averaging 16.4 points, 12.1 rebounds and 1.8 steals per game. She earned her first Defensive Player of the Year award as well as a Second Team All-WNBA nod and a First Team All-Defensive honor.

Behind Reese’s stellar season, the Dream, who traded for Reese last offseason, finished the regular season 30-14. They swept the Washington Mystics and New York Liberty en route to their first WNBA Finals since 2013, but fell short against the Golden State Valkyries in seven games.

“It’s difficult. Especially with a good group, a great group, that I honestly had the honor of fighting with all year,” she told reporters after losing Game 7 on Saturday. “They changed my life and I’m very grateful to them. And I’m very grateful to them. It’s hard in the moment, but we’ll be back. And I always say, ‘Delayed, not denied.’ It’s only the third year – (my teammates still have a lot of years left) – but I’m really, really grateful that I got to go to war with this group. I would do it again, again.”

Unfortunately for basketball fans, Reese’s hiatus this offseason apparently means she won’t be participating in Unrivaled, which she starred in for the past two seasons. She was not among the 48 players announced for this year’s roster.

But the Dream star will surely be excited heading into the WNBA season as she attempts to get her team back to the Finals.
