Georgia will be without its top scorer for the game against Alabama.
Chauncey Bowens was listed as out in the availability report released by the SEC on Wednesday evening.
The running back rushed for six touchdowns and caught one more. Bowens totaled 124 yards on 35 carries, averaging 3.5 yards per carry.
The Bulldogs still have Nate Frazier. Frazier recorded 26 carries for 211 yards and five rushing touchdowns. But Bowens has been the leading scorer so far with seven total touchdowns.
Georgia will also be without wide receiver Thomas Blackshear, who was ruled out Wednesday. He’s caught five passes for 48 yards so far this season.
Other Bulldogs players include linebacker Amaris Williams, safety Tyriq Green and offensive lineman Marcus Harrison.
It’s a blow for No. 2 Georgia as the Bulldogs prepare to face No. 6 Alabama on Saturday (6:30 p.m. CT, ABC) at Bryant-Denny Stadium.
Meanwhile, Alabama has two players listed as questionable: tight end Josh Ford and cornerback Jorden Edmonds. Ford broke his arm last Saturday and Edmonds hasn’t played at all this fall due to an injury in camp.
