TL;DR
- A new leak shows a dummy unit of the Galaxy S27 Ultra, giving us our first look at Samsung’s next flagship.
- The dummy unit was also compared to the iPhone 18 Pro, Pixel 11 Pro, and Galaxy S26 Ultra, showing differences in size and design.
- The phone’s redesigned camera bar could finally make magnetic accessories more convenient.
Samsung’s Galaxy S27 Ultra is still a few months away from its official debut, but we have a better idea of what the company’s next flagship could look like. Although renders of the device were leaked months ago, the folks at Android titles have now built a physical dummy unit based on its proprietary CAD files, giving us a closer look at the redesigned camera bar and overall dimensions of the phone.
The most notable change on the Galaxy S27 Ultra is its redesigned camera bar, which moves the cameras higher on the back of the phone. This leaves more room for magnetic accessories, potentially making the Galaxy S27 Ultra much more compatible with MagSafe-style chargers and batteries.

This could be a significant improvement over the Galaxy S26 Ultra. While the current flagship supports magnetic accessories via Qi2-enabled cases, its large camera bump can interfere with accessories, preventing them from connecting properly. The resulting misalignment can lead to slower charging and excessive heat.
Meanwhile, the Galaxy S27 Ultra dummy unit retains the S Pen slot at the bottom, suggesting Samsung isn’t planning to ditch the stylus just yet.
The phone’s dimensions also appear to remain largely unchanged. The Galaxy S27 Ultra would measure 163.76 x 78.25 x 7.97 mm, compared to 163.6 x 78.1 x 7.9 mm for the Galaxy S26 Ultra. This makes the upcoming device a bit larger than its predecessor.

The camera bar isn’t the only design detail worth noting. Android Headlines notes that the mannequin also appears to rest more steadily on a flat surface than the Galaxy S26 Ultra, although touching the screen still causes some wobbles. Since the mannequin does not have the weight of the final phone, it is too early to draw conclusions about how the finished device will behave.

The redesigned camera bar also gives the Galaxy S27 Ultra a look somewhat reminiscent of the iPhone 18 Pro. However, Samsung isn’t the only Android manufacturer moving toward this design, which could offer practical benefits beyond aesthetics.
One downside for current Galaxy owners is that the redesigned camera layout will likely make Galaxy S26 Ultra cases incompatible with the new phone. While some cases with particularly large camera cutouts may still work, most will need to be replaced.
Samsung is expected to unveil the Galaxy S27 series in early 2027. Until then, the model offers a first look at what could be one of the most notable Galaxy Ultra redesigns in recent years, even if the rest of the phone remains largely familiar.
