GTA 6 is just weeks away from launch, and to celebrate, Xbox is bringing Leonida’s Fauna into gamers’ living rooms with a one-of-a-kind console.
The Xbox Series X-Bite, as it has been affectionately nicknamed by the company, is a 5-foot-long, alligator-shaped, fully functional Xbox Series It’s quite convincing, actually, and it even looks like a piece of real taxidermy. Fortunately, this is not the case; This life-size faux alligator was created in partnership with John Nolan Studio, who created special effects for Netflix’s The Witcher series, Jurassic World Dominion and HBO’s upcoming Harry Potter series.
To turn on the console, simply press the Xbox button located on the back of the alligator; it has a controller placed carefully in its jaws, bearing teeth marks as proof of its voracious appetite. Even the pupils of his eyes are shaped like an X, outlined in green, in keeping with Xbox branding.
This strange mix of technology and artwork is not an avant-garde installation installed in the Microsoft offices; Starting today, November 3, fans can enter a draw to win this original console. Here’s how to participate:
- Follow @XBOX on your platform of choice. (X, Instagram or TikTok)
- Your profile must be public.
- Repost the designated XBOX contest post.
- Manually add #XbiteSweepstakes to your repost.
The contest lasts until 11:59 p.m. PT on November 10, 2026. The lucky winner will have 48 hours to claim the console; if they fail to do so, the alligator will “escape cleanly.” Additionally, the Sweepstakes is only open to legal residents of the 50 United States and Washington who are 18 years of age or older.
Although Xbox hasn’t directly mentioned GTA 6 in its articles about this unique competition, it’s hard not to understand why it was created; The game takes place in a fictional version of Florida which, as most people know, is home to all kinds of creatures, including alligators. (It’s unclear if players will be able to take on alligators with their bare hands like they do in real-life Florida, but we think the X-Bite is the best way to go.)
GTA 6 launches on November 19 for PS5, PS5 Pro, and Xbox Series X|S. (Or the X-Bite.) Just this morning, its install size and worldwide release times were revealed, with pre-load dates also confirmed for November 9th and 10th.
Since the file size is 212 GB, Rockstar urged players to preload the game on their consoles as soon as possible. “Make sure you have enough space to start preloading as soon as possible,” Rockstar said on the game’s official website.
Fans are more eager than ever to get their hands on a copy of GTA 6, to the point where many IGN readers are calling in unemployed to play it. A separate investigation by Unwind Media even shared disturbing statistics showing that a disconcerting number of players are so desperate to play the game sooner that they would even abandon their pets if it meant they could experience it a week before launch.
