MANCHESTER, New Hampshire —

As voters head to the polls in New Hampshire this Election Day, they might be surprised to see some notable celebrities outside the polling places.

Celebrities, including several sports legends, are showing up at polling places across the state as part of a mobilization effort by conservative political advocacy group Turning Point Action.

Perhaps most notable was Patriots legend Rob Gronkowski, who was seen outside Bedford High School posing for photos with voters and their families.

Another Patriots wide receiver, Super Bowl champion Danny Amendola, was seen outside Winnacunnet High School in Hampton.

The celebrity sightings didn’t stop there. All-time boxing great Floyd Mayweather was seen posing for a photo in front of Alvirne High School in Hudson.

Former Red Sox star Kevin Youkilis was spotted outside a polling station in Hampstead.

Later that day, Mike Tyson, a former professional boxer, was in Ward 6 of Manchester.

Many Granite Staters received text messages before Election Day that teased celebrity visits to polling places.

In October, CNN reported on Turning Point Action’s efforts to boost get-out-the-vote efforts in the Granite State, saying, “New Hampshire appears to have become a centerpiece of Turning Point Action’s midterm work.”

According to Turning Point Action, New Hampshire was a focal point of the organization’s “Commit to Chase 100 Ballots” initiative, which aims to encourage low-propensity voters to vote.

Turning Point Action also set up tents outside polling locations.
