North Carolina Midterm Elections 2026 Live Updates: U.S. Senate and House races as road to balance of power passes through North Carolina

Congresswoman Deborah Ross declared victory Tuesday evening in her re-election campaign to the U.S. House of Representatives.

“I am honored that the voters of Wake County have once again trusted me to represent them in Washington. It is a deep honor to continue to serve you, and I am committed to continuing to fight on behalf of the people of Wake County and this great state in Congress,” said Ross, who represents the 2nd Congressional District.

“As we await the results of the races here in North Carolina and across the country, one thing is clear: the status quo cannot continue. This administration’s policies have increased costs for millions of Americans, taken away health care, food assistance and other essential services from our people, and enriched the president and his family as well as taxpayer spending. I will continue to fight for progress and opportunity for our state, and I will work every day to deliver results for County Wake,” Ross added.

With more than 105 precincts out of 156, Ross had received 75.6% of the vote, far ahead of his Republican challenger Eugene Douglass (23.01%).

“Tonight’s election is just the beginning of building a version of our country that works for everyone. North Carolinians deserve a future where they can afford the basics, where hard work pays off, and where everyone has the opportunity to thrive. The work continues,” Ross said. “Thank you to the people of Wake County for re-electing me. Thank you to the voters and volunteers who made this campaign a resounding success and worked tirelessly to turn out Democratic candidates up and down the ballot. And thank you to everyone who works to preserve the freedoms of all Americans, uphold our precious democracy, and protect our fundamental rights.”
