Anker announced a new indoor security camera designed to monitor your yard, driveway, or porch through a window, instead of monitoring what’s inside your home. The new Anker Eufy Window Camera E10 takes a similar approach to the Wyze Window Cam launched almost a year ago. It mounts right up against a window using an included mounting sticker to reduce glare and reflections, but the camera doesn’t require any weather protection as it isn’t resistant to outdoor elements.
The Eufy Window Camera E10 is available now for $79.99 from Anker’s online store and Amazon, making it more than twice as expensive as the $34.98 Wyze Window Cam. But the E10 comes with some useful improvements. Wyze’s camera is limited to 1080p, while the E10 has a much higher maximum resolution of 2.5K, capturing more detailed video at 15fps at 2,688 x 1,520.
The E10 also offers a slightly wider and taller field of view than Wyze’s camera at 105 degrees horizontal and 57 degrees vertical. But to accommodate a wider range of installations, such as an upstairs window, the E10’s camera angle can be manually adjusted 25 degrees up and down using a dial on the rear to ensure the areas you want to monitor are correctly in frame.
Other features of the E10 include color night vision, AI-based motion detection and alerts to differentiate between humans, animals and vehicles, and a microphone limited to louder noises based on camera location. Footage can be saved locally to a microSD card up to 256GB in size, or transferred to the cloud with an optional subscription. And while Anker says setup can take less than a minute, you’ll potentially have to route and hide a power cord since the E10 doesn’t have a rechargeable battery.
