Microsoft just finished a big keynote focused on Windows and Surface in San Francisco.
Perhaps the biggest announcement was the release details of the Surface Laptop Ultra, its new laptop powered by Nvidia’s RTX Spark Arm chip. The machine will start at $2,599 for a configuration with an 8-core processor, 24 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage, and will be released on October 16. The laptop also has built-in magnetic USB-C charging instead of the proprietary Surface Connect magnetic charging port. The edge‘s Tom Warren published an in-depth review of the new laptop. Microsoft also announced that the Surface RTX Spark Dev Box, a mini PC aimed at developers, is available for pre-order for $5,999 before shipping in November.
Additionally, Microsoft shared details about some upcoming updates for Windows, including “Hybrid Intelligence” features that allow Copilot to use files on your Windows PC to perform actions and a new search experience that lets you perform quick actions from the search bar.
