Several waves of Russian ballistic missiles struck kyiv on the night of November 6-7, just hours after President Volodymyr Zelensky warned that Russia was preparing another large-scale attack on infrastructure.

Among the three injured in the city is a child, the State Emergency Service (DSNS) reported.

Residents received a clear signal about 30 minutes later. But the respite was short-lived, with a new air alert shortly before midnight. A new wave of missiles targeted the city shortly after 1 a.m., with Kyiv Independent journalists reporting another series of at least six loud explosions.

A fire also broke out in a non-residential building in the Solomianskyi district, the kyiv city military administration said. A nursery school in the same neighborhood was also damaged in the attack.

Outside the city, Kyiv region governor Tymur Tkachenko reported that a Russian jet drone attack in the Brovary district caused a house fire, injuring one victim. The man was pulled from the rubble of the damaged building and was hospitalized with burns and multiple shrapnel wounds.
Earlier in the evening, Zelensky told Ukrainians that intelligence reports pointed to another massive Russian strike on infrastructure. The attack will likely target bridges, energy facilities and civilian infrastructure, he warned.
kyiv, a city the size of Berlin with a population of 3 million, has been the target of relentless assaults in recent weeks as Russia begins its annual campaign against Ukraine’s power grid. The city experienced the largest strike in the energy sector this year on November 3, leading to widespread outages and water supply cuts.
As residents suffer, municipal authorities and the central government share responsibility for the deteriorating state of kyiv’s energy infrastructure as winter approaches.
