‘Real Time’: Bill Maher calls Trump ‘incredibly humble’ amid blue wave

After Democrats celebrated a historic victory this week, Bill Maher congratulates his favorite dinner companion on being a good sport.

On Friday’s episode of Real timethe comedian joked that he “might go back” to dinner at the White House after finding Trump’s response to the blue wave “incredibly humbling”, following his latest visit to the US president’s dinner.

“It’s interesting that it’s only three days later and we’re already barely talking about Trump,” he said. “I mean, it’s kind of weird that he’s still here, he just got this giant scolding, now he’s literally a lame duck. It’s like trying to cancel your subscription but you’re still on the plan for another year.”

Maher continued: “But he was incredibly humble. I thought at that point he would go after voters by name, individually, and arrest poll workers. Instead, even he said, ‘You know, even I’m a little sick of myself.'”

Noting that Trump claimed to have “a lot of friends in the Democratic Party” who want to work with him, although he promised to “block all their bad stuff for two years,” Maher joked, “Wow, maybe I could go back.” Look at this.

This week’s episode comes after Maher fired back at Trump’s record-breaking 1,300-plus word tweet calling him a “complete and utter loser,” following their recent White House dinner with Kid Rock and Stephen A. Smith.

After Tuesday’s midterm elections, Democrats lost seven Senate seats and 42 House seats, winning majorities in both cases.
