Early Black Friday deal on Fluance RT81+ turntables

Vinyl can be an expensive hobby. Major audiophiles can easily spend over $1,000 on high-end turntables, but there are many more affordable options that still provide a great experience. The Fluance RT81+ is one of these record players. It’s my team’s mid-range pick for the best turntable under $500, offering excellent performance and a beautiful design.

The RT81+ typically costs $350, which is already great value for money. However, right now the Piano White model is on sale for $53 off on Amazon. This is the lowest price all year, and I doubt we’ll see a better one before Black Friday arrives. The RT81+ is also available in Piano Black and Natural Walnut colorways, but these editions are not currently discounted.

In testing, our reviewer found the Fluance RT81+ to be an ideal mid-range turntable and particularly suitable for anyone ready to move up from an entry-level turntable to the next level. It offers a clear step up from the cheaper construction and low-end components found on cheaper models, while remaining reasonably priced.

Why we love the Fluance RT81+ turntable

• The Fluance RT81+ is a perfect upgrade from an entry-level turntable. This record player has a solid wood body and uses quality components that are a step up from the plastic construction used on cheaper models. These parts help bring out a clear and complete reading.
• Its design keeps the music stable. The adjustable rubber feet reduce vibration and the acrylic mat helps limit static compared to the felt mats used on some cheaper models.
• The Audio-Technica VM95E turntable cartridge is a solid component for this price rangeand our reviewer was impressed with its full, deep playback, delivering the rich, warm sound that vinyl is known for.
• It has a built-in preamp for easy playback with multiple powered speakers. The built-in preamp is also selectable, so you can turn it off if you prefer to add a dedicated one later.
• The RT81+ isn’t fully automatic, but we like the way it stops rotating at the end of a recording side. However, you will still need to flip the tonearm manually.
• It is available in three colors: Piano White, Piano Black and Natural Walnut.all of which present an elegant look. That said, they all have a glossy finish, which can be a plus or minus depending on your preferences.
• Wired playback of the RT81+ turntable preserves the full range of a vinyl record without the compression introduced by a wireless connection. That’s great for purists, but the player’s lack of Bluetooth support may limit its appeal for more casual listeners.
