The Coalition kicked off Gears’ 20th anniversary celebrations by reviving a classic Versus mode, introducing a new Horde mission, and adding a few more elements to Gears of War: E-Day.
It may not have seemed like much, but reintroducing Guardian in Versus was a great callback to the mode’s beginnings in Gears of War 2. The game’s first season ends at the end of November, making way for E-Day: Legacy Season 2 content.
Tomorrow, E-Day players will be able to claim a free General RAAM skin for multiplayer. All you have to do is log in, that’s it. Season 2 begins on December 1promising to bring back fan-favorite maps, modes and skins to “honor Gears’ greatest hits spanning 20 years.”
“And starting December 1, we’re launching our next season – titled Legacy – which continues to honor Gears’ biggest hits from over 20 years across our maps, modes and multiplayer skins. Season 2 not only brings back some fan favorites from the franchise’s history, but also allows us to reimagine the characters in a way we’ve always wanted to see them – like Solemn Memories Dom, whose character skin depicts him in the costume he is about the famous photo of him and Maria from War equipment 2.“

Does this mean we’re going to see Kalona’s version of Gridlock, Blood Drive, and Canals? I sure hope so! I would also like to reunite the Carmine family for E-Day. Can you imagine a full team of Carmines voiced by the one and only Michael Gough? I can and I want to!
