The Lions have placed linebacker Jack Campbell on injured reserve, the team announced Saturday.
Campbell suffered a neck injury in last week’s win over the Vikings and remains hospitalized. Campbell released a statement earlier this week saying he had full movement in his lower body and was continuing to progress in his upper body movements.
Trevor Nowaske is expected to start for Campbell alongside Derrick Barnes and Malcolm Rodriguez.
In a corresponding move, the Lions signed cornerback Nick Whiteside from the practice squad. Whiteside did not play in 2026 but appeared in nine games for the Lions last season.
The Lions also announced the elevations of defensive end Anthony Lucas and running back Jabari Small from the practice squad.
