WWE CROWN JEWEL LIVE BLOG AND MATCH COVERAGE
On a free ride home from the embassy, I saw the governor and his lover holding hands. When I got home, I emptied my suitcase and opened the windows wide to live blog this pro wrestling show here for you guys.
The show opens with the usual montage of talent arriving in the arena, then we get an intro video for the show.
Cody Rhodes makes his entrance before our opening match, followed shortly after by Randy Orton to get us started.
“American Nightmare” Cody Rhodes vs. Randy Orton (Last Man Standing Match)
Rhodes right with punches, Orton fights back, in the corner, turning the tables, big elbow from Cody! Front kick in the corner, but Rhodes sidesteps it and sends Randy hard into the corner! Referee Charles Robinson counts but Orton jumps to the floor and gets back up. Cody with a suicide dive, baton strikes on the floor, Randy comes back with the back suplex into the Arabic announce desk over and over before dropping Rhodes to the Count.
A third back suplex into the announce desk, Orton connects the cover of the announce desk to the floor and slams Cody through it! Robinson counts and Rhodes gets up at six! Brawling through the crowd, back and forth, Randy delivers kicks and uppercuts to stagger Cody before grabbing a trash can and smashing it over his head!
Trash can lid shot, again referee Charles Robinson counts, then another shot with the lid once he’s up and beats the count! Sending Orton to ringside, Rhodes takes a break to hydrate and takes off after him, staggering around the ring only to get hit by a kendo stick in the midsection! Action back inside, more kendo stick shots to the leg and back, Cody ducks one and grabs the stick himself, returning the hits in kind!
Clothesline sends Viper over the ropes and to the floor, he goes back up the ramp and Rhodes cuts him off with punches before letting Robinson count! Fighting his way to the stage, Cody gets a trash can from behind and hits Randy with it! Orton is barely standing as Rhodes comes back with a table and sets him up! Another trash can shot, but Randy stabs him in the eyes!
Orton bounces his face on the table…AND POWERBOMBS HIM THROUGH THE TABLE! Referee Charles Robinson counts…CODY BARELY GETS TO HIS FEET TO BEAT THE COUNT! Crossface pounds on the ramp, raking his boot laces across Rhodes’ face! Back inside, Cody catches him in the ropes and hits the hanging DDT!
Rhodes up top, Randy cuts him off with a right hand, up top with him, jockeying for position… ORTON HITS THE SUPERPLEX BUT CAN’T CAPITALIZE! Randy with lariats, snap powerslam, hanging DDT connects! Going to that special spot as Rhodes climbs into the ropes, Cody with a peekaboo!
Jabs, off the ropes with an elbow, up and down, initiate his own powerslam! Cody Cutter connects, rotating jabs as soon as Randy gets up, Bionic Elbow… COUNTERED WITH THE RKO OUTTA NOWHERE! Both men are slow to get up, Orton throws him to the ground, takes down the steel steps and drags the top half over… BUT CODY GETS AWAY AND RANDY HITS THE RINGPOST! RHODES NAILS ORTON IN THE FACE WITH THE STEEL STEPS!
Cody places him on the commentator’s desk, surveys the scene, throws punches to keep him there, Rhodes looks for loot under the ring but it takes him two tries to find the ladder he wants! Setting up the ladder next to the announcement office, more punches and a swipe of the kendo stick to hold Randy in place, he climbs up top… NOBODY AT HOME ON THE LADDER SPLASH AND CODY COMES THROUGH THE ANNOUNCEMENT OFFICE! BOTH MEN BEAT THE COUNT!
Orton hooks him, uppercut against the barricade, brings him back inside, Randy talks bullshit, Cody on all fours, Orton backs into the corner and takes the punt but Rhodes rolls away! Springboard Cody Cutter is off the top rope but he can’t capitalize! Randy climbs into the ropes to beat the count but runs into Cross Rhodes!
Orton beats the count to nine as Cody slides the bottom half of the steel steps into the ring, turning the stairs right side up, chair in hand, hitting Randy with the chair until he falls onto the steps! Right hands put him in position, Orton’s head dangles in the V-shaped space at the end of the steps as Cody climbs up and stands over him… THE VIPER COUNTERS WITH A LOW BLOW!
Back on his feet, RKO countered a Cross Rhodes, a second Cross Rhodes, clinging to the facelock and he hits a third! Orton bleeding, stumbling, Cody waving, Randy on all fours…CODY FUCKS HIM! Referee Charles Robinson counts, Orton motionless, Rhodes trembling, Randy turns around at nine but can’t get up…
Cody Rhodes wins, keeping Randy Orton beaten and bloodied for ten with a punt.

Zero tag back, the match collapses in a flurry of superkicks, the tornado springboard DDT eliminates Theory, covers… MAXXINE DUPRI PUTS AUSTIN’S FOOT ON THE ROPES!
Dupri distracts the referee as “Big” Bronson Reed comes in and pulls Penta for a Death Valley Driver to the floor! Throwing Evans over the barricade and Zero back in, bulldog in electric chair… PENTA leaves!
Reed rushes him and Femi takes him down with a corkscrew uppercut…THROW THE SLAM OFFSTAGE AND THROUGH A TABLE! Oba walks towards the ring, Bron slips away to stare at him, superkick from Evans, off the ropes, he dives on Breakker but gets caught… PENTA WITH A PLANCHA! Back inside, tag made, piledriver flip, double jump into the OG Cutter… IT’S OVER!
Je’Von Evans and Penta el Zero M win by pinfall with Evans’ OG Cutter over Austin Theory to become your new WWE Men’s World Tag Team Champions.
We get entries for our women’s Crown Jewel Championship match, first Liv Morgan then Chelsea Green.
Chelsea Green vs. Liv Morgan (WWE Crown Jewels Women’s Championship)
Feeling bad, Morgan in control at first, Green gets a whip, a drop down, a drop kick but Liv hangs in the ropes and nails Chelsea with a dropkick! Green takes a moment to compose herself on the mat, Liv reaches for her hand but it’s a misstep for a stomp and she struts off like she just won the title! Chelsea nails her with a slap and a series of kicks, Morgan comes back with a clothesline into punches to the floor!
Pulling her up into the ropes, hanging back chinlock, big kick to the ribs, kicks to the corner follow! Walking away, charging uppercut sets up a rising knee, basement dropkick sends Green into the corner and she heads to the apron to catch a breather! Codebreaker follows… NO!
