If you thought that Grand Theft Auto 6 the escapes from the entity known as Cyberleeks were over, either because they got caught or because they got bored, well, that’s not the case. On Thursday morning, Cyberleek returned to drop more than 20 minutes of footage, including GTA 6 leads Jason and Lucia, fully or partially, naked. Needless to say, it’s a topic of conversation on social media right now.
Cyberleeks has not published any GTA6 leaks since the official Netflix gameplay special launched on August 27, about a month and a half ago. The thinking was that either Cyberleeks had been caught, had cut and used the cryptocurrency they had been promoting, or had realized that there was little point in continuing to leak footage after Rockstar had released its own, much more engaging, gameplay.
But Cyberleek doesn’t just offer footage, it offers a playable version of the game of sorts. This has led to a risk of story spoilers, although nothing significant has been revealed yet, although something could clearly drop at any moment. Instead, they found something else that would shock and amaze: nude images of the game’s two protagonists, Jason and Lucia.
It was revealed in an IGN interview with Rockstar on Wednesday that the leaker played the game and saw Jason fully naked in the shower. But this new video from GTA6 confirms that clothing is optional everywhere in the game it seems. The clips not only show Jason running naked, but also display full-frontal nudity in story cutscenes. A topless Lucia is shown in a brief clip wearing only underwear as she runs around a helipad above the city, but she never faces the camera, perhaps being saved for another escape.
There aren’t many games, especially AAA games, where players are allowed to be completely naked. While Cyberpunk 2077 has full frontal nudity in its character creator, there are limits to what is shown in gameplay. There was almost no nudity GTA 5 for its trio of male leads, short of very brief clips of Trevor from behind.
There are plenty of other normal gameplay sequences showing things like dirt bike racing and car customization. It’s a nearly 25-minute clip, so there’s a lot to go through, and it looks like at some point there might also be some first-person gameplay, which is confusing, considering Rockstar said it wasn’t in the game. Although perhaps it was an older version of the game that had it.
Take-Two and Rockstar are definitely at DEFCON 1 right now, because not only do they not really want their protagonists running around without clothes heading into the game (although, hey, they put that ability in the game and people will be doing it within minutes of launch, I’m sure), but the bigger problem is that Cyberleeks is back and once again has the potential to show things they don’t want to see yet, including the ever-present threat of story spoilers. It also shows that even after almost two months, there appears to be no progress in identifying and arresting the absconder.
Cyberleeks says they are no longer making requests for cryptocurrency, and this all started because of demands for Rockstar to reverse its decision to not make physical copies of the game available on disc. That’s not going to happen, so it’s possible we’ll see more and more leaks leading up to launch, if Cyberleeks has deemed it time to return.
At the height of GTA6 leaks, we were getting about two or three every day, so we’ll see where things go from here. And how many clothes will be involved.
