‘SNL’: James Talarico Crashes Cold As Trump Laments Blue Tsunami

James Talarico cold opened on “Saturday Night Live” as James Austin Johnson’s Trump lamented the onslaught of millennials coming to Congress.

The senator-elect openly interrupted Trump’s speech, saying Americans were looking for something different this election season.

“It’s clear that people want something new. They want something different,” he said. “I’m talking about SNL cold opens, of course.”

“How many of these Trump freezes are they going to do?” he added.

“Infinite,” Trump replied.

Earlier in the sketch, Sarah Sherman as Senator Chuck Schumer and Keenan Thompson’s Hakeem Jeffries celebrated the blue tsunami as Democrats were elected across the country this midterm season.

Establishment Democrats took credit for the blue wave, saying they had found all the candidates and were planning to lead the next generation of Democrats in Congress.

Trump interrupted the skit, triggering another freeze, a device that “SNL” has implemented in cold opens throughout the season. He lamented the blue wave mainly because he has to work with millennials.

“I hate my life. The next two years are going to be horrible,” he said. “I don’t want to work with these people. It’s not that they’re Democrats. It’s that they’re millennials.”

“The millennial grind is back. ‘New Girl.’ Lovely. Mason jar weddings,” Trump added.

Colin Jost also entered the picture as Secretary of War Pete Hegseth, presenting a strong front despite the Republican defeat in the midterms.

“You think an election is going to stop me? You want to be like a person who gets less crazy when cornered? I live a lose-lose lifestyle,” he said.

Druski hosted the fifth episode of season 52 with musical guest The Strokes. The comedian is notably the first digital talent to host the series of comedy sketches.
