“We’re going to make a change offensively. I’ll call the plays. I understand the questions from earlier in the week. I want to say it first, and I said it to Davis the other day, talking to him. I’ve been doing this long enough to know when I have a future head coach, and he will be one. All the hard-to-find things will happen. Actually, the same thing to some extent – a little different – happened to me early in my career. I met with the infraction.
“As a head coach, there’s nothing more different than evaluating your right tackle, your receiver, your running backs, something to turn things around. Ultimately, I used that word ‘collective’ yesterday. It’s the group. So when I met with the offense, it’s about buttoning up all the little things that keep you from sustaining drives. Davis is all in with the game plan, just like we did. He’ll be on the field with me.”
