Country star Ella Langley cancels her show in Tulsa, Oklahoma due to ‘serious security threat’

Country singer Ella Langley has canceled her sold-out show scheduled for Friday night in Tulsa, Oklahoma, due to what she described as “a serious security threat.”

The 27-year-old star announced the last-minute cancellation on Instagram, saying the threat involved “the safety of my fans, venue staff and team.”

“The incredibly difficult decision has been made to cancel tonight’s show,” she said. “This decision was made in consultation with local authorities, the venue and my security team.”

Tulsa police said Friday that “a call was made threatening the lives of those attending the event.”

Police swept the area with their K-9, bomb squad, patrols and security guards, but found nothing dangerous. The building and surrounding area were swept a second time, but police “again found no credible threat to the security of the event,” the department said.

Police said they informed Langley staff that no credible threats were found, “but they still decided to cancel the performance.”

“We apologize to everyone who came this evening. We appreciate your patience and it is unfortunate that some nefarious figures managed to disrupt the event, ruining the evening for thousands of people,” police said.

The incident remains under investigation.

Langley — whose single “Choosin’ Texas” made history by topping the Billboard Hot 100 for more than 23 weeks — apologized to her fans, but stressed that safety is paramount.

“I know how much time, travel, money and planning goes into coming to a show, and I can’t tell you how sorry I am. This is not a decision that was made lightly,” she said.

“I was so looking forward to spending this night with you, but your safety will always mean more to me than anything else. I refuse to put anyone in danger,” she continued.

The show was scheduled to take place at the BOK Center in Tulsa, which shared the same statement Langley included in his social media post.

“The safety and well-being of everyone involved is our top priority, and after careful consideration, we have determined that the show cannot take place,” the statement said. “The safety of the fans is our primary concern and will always come first.”

The statement said details regarding refunds will be shared soon.
