Crumbl CEO acknowledges challenges after store closures

Crumbl co-founder and CEO Jason McGowan acknowledged the company was facing challenges after reports that dozens of its locations had closed this year.

“The restaurant industry is currently facing real headwinds, and Crumbl is no exception,” McGowan wrote in a statement shared on social media. “I could point fingers at them, but that won’t solve anything.”

McGowan said he should have anticipated these challenges earlier and adjusted the company’s course.

“As a leader, I should have anticipated them earlier and adjusted our course. It’s my fault,” he wrote.

McGowan congratulated Crumbl franchise owners and thanked those who have supported the company and its franchise partners.

“What I know for sure is this: Crumbl is built by hard-working business owners who do so much good for their communities,” McGowan wrote. “Together we shape the future. »

He compared the company’s situation to a difficult sports season and expressed optimism about Crumbl’s future.

“Our best chapter is yet ahead of us,” McGowan wrote.
