New moons are a time of rejuvenation and manifestation. If you have a gap in your life, this is the time when the collective will work to fill it, whether through a new experience, a new person or a new object. We need to make room for beginnings and foolish behavior during new moons. Be careful, we are all idiots when we start something new, so don’t be afraid to experiment.
For starters, a New Moon occurs when the Moon is in conjunction with the Sun in the same degree. New moons are used to set intentions and goals to manifest. Take inspiration from the theme of each new moon (manifestation period) to bring out the best version of yourself! On Saturday, October 10 at 11:50 a.m. ET, the Sun and Moon meet in Libra. Libra is the sign of fairness, diplomacy and balance. This new moon not only asks us to be these things, it asks us to show that we were. Expect pressure to prove that you handled things reasonably. If something from the past is dug up, there may be more attention now and more pressure to handle it properly this time. Some people may feel like they are being made an example. Image awareness is high, and this can be uncomfortable.
There is, however, true wisdom. The new moon connects with Jupiter (planet of knowledge, expansion and higher learning) in Leo, which opens the door for people to speak out on sensitive issues, provided they have the expertise to back it up. Credibility is the currency here, and volume is not. Prudence is Saturn (planet of maturity, discipline and work) in Aries, which is opposite the new moon. If you thought you would escape scot-free for impulsive, self-centered choices or for harm caused to someone else, these things are likely to resurface. The cost could be higher today than if they had been handled correctly the first time. This is not the time to “the rules don’t apply to me“individualism. Trying to get by tends to leave people with more to explain than just recognizing it.
To slow down. Think about how you participated, not just what happened to you as this theme continues on October 25. This dynamic does not end with the new moon. On October 25, Venus retrogrades in Libra as the Sun moves into Scorpio. This exchange allows us to revisit situations that we pretended to appreciate or that we felt obliged to describe as pleasant. The Sun in Scorpio highlights what has not been said: the hidden, the secret, the intimate. Mercury is also retrograde in Scorpio, so don’t expect these conversations to end well. They are more likely to uncover old wounds than resolve them. Venus opposes Chiron on this day, and the Moon crosses Aries before the Taurus full moon on October 26. There’s a lot coming at the end of October. Keep your eyes open and your conscience clear.
What to do during the new moon in Libra
Own Your Part, Properly
The most effective ingredient in an apology is acknowledging responsibility, without explaining, justifying or adding a “but“If something surfaces this week, avoid defense. Name what you did, name its impact, and say what you will do differently. Saturn opposite this new moon rewards people who manage things now. Trying to get by only adds interest to the bill.
Remember the spotlight is dimmer than it seems
Psychologists call it the SPotlight effect: We constantly overestimate how much others notice and judge us. With high image awareness, it is easy to achieve balance instead of practicing it. Before publishing the statement or tweaking the story, ask whether you are acting according to your values or for an audience. The people who matter care more about what you do next than how flawless you look.
Pause before the explosion
Research on emotion regulation shows that intense impulses tend to wax and wane, and that even a short delay between feeling and acting changes what we choose. When the “it’s not fair“The surge hits, give it ten minutes and walk around the block before responding. Saturn in Aries punishes the first rash move. Let anger show you what matters, then decide how to say it.
Talk with receipts
Demonstrated specific expertise carries more weight than confidence or volume. Jupiter’s sextile opens the door to honest input on sensitive topics, but a sextile only pays off if you go through it prepared. Choose a problem that you really know and provide something concrete: a fact, an experience or a solution. Being heard in this cycle comes from being informed and fair, not from being the loudest.

Ram
This new moon lands right in front of you, in your zone of partnerships, contracts and individual commitments. With Saturn in your opposite sign, the space between what you want and what you owe someone else is impossible to ignore. If you manage the relationship on your own terms, making calls and expecting the other person to catch up, expect that to be looked into. It’s not a punishment. This is a fix you can always choose to do yourself instead of having it done for you. Someone can finally say out loud what they think is unfair, and your first instinct will be to defend yourself. Don’t do it. Listen throughout, then ask them what a fair version looks like. One honest conversation now saves you three heated conversations later. Partnership isn’t what slows you down. It’s what allows you to go further than you could alone.
Moon lesson: Strength does not work for you. It’s about being someone people can trust to see them through the process.
Bull
This new moon moves into your zone of work, health, and daily routines, the silent systems that your entire life relies on. With Venus, your ruler, retrograde in your relationship sector, you may notice how much of your schedule has been shaped by the comfort of others. Saying yes to the extra shift, to the favor, to the “quick” request adds up and your body keeps score even if it doesn’t. This lunation asks you to rebalance your workload so that it reflects what you are truly capable of, not what seems most enjoyable. Look at your week and find a commitment you made out of obligation rather than choice. Renegotiate it, return it, or set an end date. A fair routine is not one where everyone is taken care of first. This is one where you are also on the list.
Moon lesson: Your well-being is not a favor that you can constantly put off for others.
Gemini
This new moon lights up your zone of creativity, romance, fun, and self-expression, the part of life that’s supposed to feel good. With Mercury, your ruler, moving through your work sector and heading into retrograde, you may realize that pleasure has quietly turned into another obligation. Maybe the hobby became a side hustle, or the love life started to feel like a performance review. This lunation asks you to put play back in its rightful place in your life. Saturn’s opposition reminds you that pleasure without consideration has a price, so if you’re flirting with something that hurts someone else, now is the time to stop. Choose a creative thing that you will do purely for fun, with no audience, no metrics, and no monetization plan. Let yourself become a beginner again. The spark you were missing hasn’t disappeared. It just got buried under everyone else’s expectations.
Moon Lesson: Joy doesn’t have to be productive to be worth your time.
Cancer
This new moon roots itself in your zone of home, family, and emotional foundations. Since the Moon is your ruler, you will feel this one personally. Saturn in your career sector draws you toward responsibilities and reputation, while this lunation draws you back toward the people and places that support you. If old family patterns manifest — someone who always keeps the peace, someone who always gets a pass — that’s when the imbalance becomes difficult to overcome. You don’t have to fix the entire family system in one weekend. Choose a place in the house where you work too much and take a step back, even if only slightly. Let someone else carry their part. A home that remains peaceful just because you do all the emotional labor is not truly peaceful. It’s just calm.
Moon lesson: True harmony comes from everyone carrying their share of the load.
Lion
This new moon activates your zone of communication, conversations and local connections, and with Jupiter in your sign forming a supportive sextile, your voice currently carries real weight. People will listen to you when you speak, especially on sensitive topics where you know what you’re talking about. The problem is that Saturn’s opposition is asking you to back it up. Burning positions and grand declarations will not hold. The details, evidence and lived experience will. If you have an opinion because you’re not sure it was your place, check your facts and say so clearly. Just as important, check to see if something you said recently was more difficult than you expected. A quick and sincere “what went wrong” goes a long way in this cycle. Your influence grows and how you use it is what builds confidence.
Moon lesson: Credibility is earned in the details, not the delivery.
Virgin
This new moon lands in your zone of money, possessions and self-esteem. After your own birthday season new moon asks you to name your worth, this one asks you if your finances truly reflect it. Mercury, your ruler, is moving in your communications sector into retrograde, so the conversations you’ve been having…
