George Clooney has spoken out about the tragic death of Presley Gerber.

During a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight, the 65-year-old actor and close friend of Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber opened up about the family’s grief over Presley’s death, telling the outlet, “I don’t think we’re even in a position to be able to talk about it.”

“This is one of the most devastating things that has happened to our family,” he said. “And their family is just… as you can imagine, it’s the worst thing that can happen to a family.”

Presley died Sept. 20 at a rehabilitation center in Santa Monica, according to Los Angeles County medical examiner records. He was 27 years old.

He reportedly showed up at the Resolutions Living center on September 19.

Clooney is a longtime friend of the Gerber family and co-founded Casamigos Tequila with Rande. He was reportedly nicknamed “Uncle George” by the Gerber children.

In the days following Presley’s death, the actor and his wife, Amal Clooney, were spotted getting out of their car as they arrived at Kaia Gerber’s home in Los Angeles.

According to sources who spoke to the Daily Mail at the time, Clooney was “close” to Presley and communicated with him often.

“George spent hours talking to Presley,” the source explained. “George is the nicest guy in the world and he would do anything to help Rande’s family.”

“Especially after Presley got a DUI (in 2018), George was advising, ‘Don’t do that, it’s not smart. Be careful.’ More recently, George has shared loving words like, ‘I’m here for you,’ that sort of thing.”
