Alfa Romeo Cuorerosso presents the future of the brand – with a twin-turbo V6

In normal driving, two round screens display speed and revs, but in sportier driving modes, or when the driver picks up the pace, they merge into a single central screen inspired by the large dial of the 33 Stradale from the 1960s.

Alfa Romeo said this interpretation of the cannocchiale could be developed for production cars, thanks to Stellantis’ STLA SmartCockpit technology. Such systems will become increasingly important to “preserve each brand’s distinctive identity” within the Stellantis stable, the company said.

There’s also an emphasis on physical controls, with dials mounted along the center console for the audio system and climate control.

Notably, the Cuorerosso also offers a technical specification for the next generation of Quadrifoglio performance models.

Alfa Romeo has designed a curb weight of 1,750 kg, with power coming from a hybridized version of the famous 2.9-litre V6 twin-turbo petrol engine. Power will be sent to all four wheels via a torque converter automatic gearbox and a carbon fiber driveshaft.

According to Alfa Romeo, this will “put technology at the service of driving pleasure”. However, the company said it is also preparing a full range of powertrains for future models, including mild hybrid, plug-in hybrid and battery electric.
