3 new Ryobi tools coming soon (from October 2026)

At this point in the brand’s life, Ryobi has accumulated a ton of different tool offerings. Some are simple power tools intended for occasional use, others are intended for slightly heavier work, and still others fall somewhere in between. However, since October 2026, Ryobi has been announcing new additions to its already large tool assortment. A handful of these will be available in the very near future, covering a range of situations and use cases besides.

Of course, know that these tools are just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the overall Ryobi 2026 drop list. Throughout the year, the brand has released several new products to attract new and longtime Ryobi buyers. A few of these are new additions to the Ryobi lithium tool lineup, although the majority fall under the brand’s larger, much more extensive battery platforms. Those soon to debut range in voltage from 12V to 18V to 40V, and they all serve very different purposes in a Ryobi tool collection. If you’re eager to make some new additions to your Ryobi arsenal, you’ll want to keep an eye out for these. Three new products are on the way that could be absolute must-haves in your toolbox.

12V rechargeable drill/driver

While not a robust selection, Ryobi’s sub-line of 12V tools has been gaining ground in recent years. The Ryobi 12V Mini Pruning Chainsaw stands out, and it’s possible that an incoming 12V tool will also become a favorite. The Ryobi 12V Rechargeable Drill/Driver will be available as early as October 2026, costing $34.98 for the tool and a charging cable. The interesting thing about this drill is that it works with an internal battery, so there is no need to buy another one after purchasing the drill. Just plug it in, charge it and start it once the battery is full.

The internal battery configuration is just the first notable thing to know about this drill/driver. This battery provides the motor with enough power to run up to 525 RPM, with a variable speed trigger present to speed up and slow down as needed. The 3/8-inch chuck is keyless for simplified bit exchange; There’s a built-in LED light on the front for better visibility in the dark, and the drill is rather light at 2.2 pounds. To top it all off, if the workmanship proves defective in any way, Ryobi includes its two-year warranty for easy repair or replacement – and, as long as the issue is covered under warranty, free.

18V storm preparation kit

According to Ryobi, most of the tools that will soon be available are just that: tools. However, one of them is actually a complete kit, specifically intended to help homeowners if they lose power during a severe weather event. The Ryobi 18V ONE+ Storm Preparedness Kit comes with five items in total, although at the time of publication, pricing has not yet been announced. Despite all that entails, it seems like it could be a useful purchase for those facing major storms.

Headlining are three different emergency use devices. One is a 4-inch 18V clip-on fan, which can come in handy for everything from summer nights without electricity to more relaxing scenarios like tailgating. There is also 18V area lighting to improve visibility with its power of 400 lumens and up to 40 hours of battery life. The 18V power source connects to a battery and allows you to charge personal devices like phones via a USB connection. Everything is powered by an 18V 2.0 Ah rechargeable battery, which also comes with a charger to recharge it. This set goes even further with its warranty, including three years of coverage in the event of defective items.

40V brushless hedge trimmer

The final Ryobi version, which should hit stores soon, is also the largest of the three and the one that requires the highest voltage battery to operate. Customers will be able to purchase the 40V HP Brushless Cordless Hedge Trimmer from the Ryobi website as a solo tool or with a 40V 2.0 Ah battery and charger to operate it. Much like the aforementioned storm kit, Ryobi has yet to announce pricing for this tool. That said, the company has at least pulled back the curtain on what users can expect from the tool, which comes from one of the top-ranked leading cordless hedge trimmer brands on the market.

For a battery-powered device, this hedge trimmer is a respectable size. It features a 26-inch bar capable of providing 1 1/4-inch cutting capacity. As for battery life, Ryobi claims that it can run for over 45 minutes when equipped with the 40V 2.0 Ah battery. The highest runtime it can achieve is 168 minutes on a 6.0 Ah unit. Making any length more productive, this hedge trimmer features anti-jam technology that prevents the blade from jamming during use. This package is rounded off with a five-year Ryobi warranty for free repair or replacement if anything goes wrong within the warranty parameters.
