PHOENIX (AZFamily) — First Alert Days are in effect from Saturday evening through Monday as active weather brings storm chances and a big drop in temperatures to the Valley.
An outflow boundary is pushing blowing dust through the Phoenix metro, with wind gusts up to 35 mph.
A Flood Watch begins at 5 pm Saturday and runs until 5 on Sunday. While rain may miss some parts of the Valley, isolated areas—particularly in the eastern higher terrain—could see rainfall amounts between 0.50″ and 1.0″.
Once the flood watch expires early Sunday morning, isolated showers and storms remain possible. Sunday late morning is dry for most, but storm chances rise from 20% during the day to 40% Sunday night. That 40% chance of rain and thunderstorms continues through Monday evening.
A major relief from the heat is also on the way. After hitting 113°F so far today, high temperatures will drop to 106°F on Sunday and down to 100°F on Monday. Highs will hover in the 102°F–104°F range Tuesday and Wednesday before warming back up to around 105°F late next week.
