The president of the LGBT+ association of police officers and justice officials was the victim of a violent attack during the night from Friday to Saturday in Paris, we learned on Sunday, August 30, from Stop Homophobia and the public prosecutor’s office, which specified that the alleged perpetrator had been arrested.
An investigation into “violence followed by incapacity for more than eight days committed due to the sexual orientation of the victim” has been opened, the Paris prosecutor’s office told AFP.
The Stop Homophobia association denounced a “homophobic attack” against Pierre Picavet, police officer and president of FLAG!, an association fighting against discrimination and LGBTphobic violence bringing together agents from the Ministries of the Interior and Justice.

Attacked a little before 4 a.m., Saturday, leaving a bar in the Marais district, in the heart of the capital, he showed numerous traces of injuries (internal bleeding, open skull, etc.), following in particular a bottle thrown, specifies the prosecution. He sent photos of his injuries from his hospital bed, posted on the Stop Homophobia website.
In his complaint, the victim indicated that the perpetrator of the attack had called him a “dirty faggot” on several occasions, details the prosecution. “She immediately denied her status as a police officer while showing him her professional card, without dissuading the accused from attacking her.”
The prosecution specified that the alleged perpetrator, with a clean criminal record, was born in 2006 and was alcoholic at the time of the events.
