Those who thought the Los Angeles Dodgers and their huge payroll were going to waltz into Milwaukee and crush the Brewers were wrong. This is a team that has won 103 games this season for the best record in baseball.
They won’t forget how to play the game now that October and its bright lights have arrived. They have too much talent for that, and they proved it in a 2-1 victory in Game 1 of the NLCS.

The lights aren’t too bright for the Brew Crew or their superfan, Amy Williams, better known as Front Row Amy. They showed up, proved they weren’t going to get crushed, and won a close first match while she went viral.

Brewers ace Jacob Misiorowski was on the mound. He allowed one run in 4 1/3 innings of work before turning it over to the bullpen to hold him down the rest of the way, which they did.
They only needed two runs and that’s what they got when the final out in the top of the ninth was recorded. All you have to do this October is win. It doesn’t matter how, just score more points than the other team.

Misiorowski did his job. The bullpen did its job. The bats did their job. And Front Row Amy was behind the plate, as she does most Brewers games, doing her job. That’s winning baseball.
Now is not the time to pump the brakes. The work is not finished.
The Dodgers are back-to-back World Series champions for a reason. You have to show up to every game in this series ready to match the intensity of the playoffs.

I’ve seen enough baseball to know that showing up prepared for the intensity of the postseason won’t be a problem for Front Row Amy. It appears every time.
It’s the rest of the Brewers you need to worry about if you’re a fan. That said, they’re off to a good start to this series. This isn’t the same team that was swept by the Dodgers in last season’s NLCS.
Game 2 will take place at 5 p.m. Monday.
