As of now, 49ers linebacker Dre Greenlaw is not eligible to play in San Francisco’s Week 6 game against Washington on Monday night.
Greenlaw hopes to change that.
According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, Greenlaw is appealing his one-game suspension that was handed down Monday after the linebacker head-butted Seattle’s Ernest Jones on the sideline during Sunday’s game.
Greenlaw was kicked out of the competition for his actions.
This is Greenlaw’s second one-game suspension in as many seasons, having received one last year for unsportsmanlike conduct.
Greenlaw’s appeal is expected to be heard by one of the officers jointly appointed by the NFL and NFLPA: Derrick Brooks, Jordy Nelson, Ron Rivera or James Thrash.
