‘Cornell 7’ Accuser Sent 3-Letter Text During Alleged Gang Rape, Messages Say

“Cornell 7” accuser Jane Doe sent her roommate a three-letter text message at the time she alleged she was gang raped — which the attorney for one of the accused brothers cites as evidence she wasn’t too embarrassed to consent.

Jane Doe’s roommate texted her at 3:05 a.m. on October 20, 2024, asking, “Are you coming home (tonight)?” according to a screenshot shared by the TMZ show.

“I don’t know,” the accuser replied, using the three-letter abbreviation for “I don’t know.”

The text appears to have been sent from Jane Doe’s phone in the middle of what she later claimed was a drunken, ketamine-fueled gang rape at the Chi Phi fraternity house on Cornell University’s Ithaca, New York, campus.

The exchange took place between a half hour and an hour after Doe said several men were sniffing ketamine on her body and that she was so drunk she couldn’t understand what was happening.

At least one of the seven attorneys for the accused fraternity brothers said the messages — which appeared during Cornell’s internal disciplinary hearing — show the woman was not incapacitated and could read, process and respond to the messages, TMZ reported.

Jane Doe’s roommate, who sent the first message, later shared a photo of their dorm room on social media around 11:15 a.m. the morning after the alleged gang rape, with the caption: “It was a good night when only one (of) three of us came back.”

Doe then returned home and began recalling her memories of the night in the days and weeks that followed, her roommate said.
