We just got a closer look at Apple’s new video doorbell, security cameras, door lock and thermostats after the company’s “Welcome Home” event on Tuesday. The six new devices are part of a new Apple Home Collection, which the company co-developed with LG Electronics and Schneider Electric.
The LG Smart Lock costs $349 and supports Apple Home Key, allowing you to unlock your door hands-free with UWB. You can also unlock the door with a PIN code or by using the physical keyhole located under the keypad.
There’s also a new $249 video doorbell from LG. It comes with dual cameras supporting up to 2.5K resolution, allowing you to record your visitors and see when packages are delivered to your door. The doorbell also has a motion-activated light.
A pair of LG outdoor and indoor security cameras sport a tubular design that matches the video doorbell. The plug-in indoor camera costs $199 and records video with up to 2.5K resolution. It goes up and down automatically and you can adjust it down when you get home. Meanwhile, Apple is launching two versions of its wired outdoor camera: a $399 model with motion-activated spotlights and a cheaper $299 model without lights.
Finally, we took a closer look at Apple’s round LG smart thermostat and Schneider Electric’s square thermostat. They cost $199 and support Matter.
