A Pennsylvania mother is accused of stabbing her husband and child to death in a Great Wolf Lodge hotel room before telling emergency responders she was supposed to have her “happy family.”

Metallica Rose Harrison, 27, of Towanda, faces two counts of criminal homicide after police found her husband, Charles Harrison, and their 3-year-old son dead inside the complex Monday, according to a criminal complaint reviewed by Fox News Digital.

“It wasn’t supposed to end like this. I was supposed to have my family happy. That’s what I imagined since I was a kid,” Harrison reportedly said during the ambulance ride to the hospital.

Pocono Township police responded to Room 2030 of the Scotrun complex around 3:13 p.m. Oct. 12 after Harrison called dispatchers seeking help dying, according to the affidavit.

Officers encountered Harrison at the door with bleeding cuts on his wrist and puncture wounds around his neck. She told them she wanted to be with her husband and son, investigators wrote.

Inside, police found Charles Harrison with several stab wounds to his chest. The couple’s son, identified in the complaint by his initials, appeared to have suffered a single stab wound to the chest.

Harrison was taken to the Monroe Campus of St. Luke’s Hospital in Stroudsburg for treatment.

“Every day I work very hard. To be the best person, the best mother, the best wife,” she reportedly told rescuers before lamenting the way things ended.

Investigators found a large kitchen knife on the bathroom floor and a smaller knife on the bathroom sink, according to the affidavit. Both had teal green handles and resort staff told police they were not the type of knives kept by the lodge.

Several medication bottles were also scattered around the room, investigators wrote.

The family had checked into the resort on September 21 and extended their reservation on October 5, with check-out scheduled for October 13, according to information police obtained from lodge security.

Surveillance video showed the three family members entering their bedroom around 6:53 p.m. Sunday. Later that night, Harrison and her husband visited the arcade before returning to the room around 11:22 p.m., the affidavit states.

Monroe County Prosecutor Michael Mancuso called the complaint “disturbing reading” and said investigators were continuing to gather evidence.

“The investigation continues as we gather new evidence shedding light on the circumstances surrounding this horrific situation,” Mancuso wrote in a statement.

He thanked township officers, Pennsylvania State Police forensic investigators and the county coroner’s office for their work, describing the room as a “complex double homicide scene.”

Mancuso stressed that Harrison is presumed innocent and that prosecutors must prove his guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.

Police described the deaths as an isolated domestic tragedy and said there was no threat to the community.

Great Wolf Lodge told Fox News Digital it was “deeply saddened and heartbroken” by the deaths and was cooperating with investigators.

“This is an isolated domestic incident and we are cooperating fully with local law enforcement as they conduct their investigation,” the station said in a statement. “Our thoughts are with the family and loved ones of those affected.”

A resort spokesperson said responding officers quickly determined there were no ongoing security concerns.
