The husband of Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., was filmed by Fox News Digital entering their shared residence in Washington, D.C., the day after the search by Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) agents.
Tim Mynett, a political consultant, walked with a yellow Labrador dog on a leash Tuesday afternoon before entering the home that was searched early Monday morning as part of a federal investigation into Omar’s immigration status.
Its release came on the same day that U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro announced that her office was investigating Omar’s financial disclosures regarding the couple’s declaration of joint worth.
Two sources close to the HSI investigation say the search was part of a criminal fraud investigation into the Somali-born MP’s immigration documents, which were filled out by her late father when she was a child.

Omar’s husband is at the center of one of the congresswoman’s most significant controversies after his financial disclosures dropped significantly in reported value during a single filing period.
Pirro revealed that his office was now investigating Omar’s financial disclosures after the Office of Congressional Conduct in September dropped its misconduct investigation into the congresswoman. Tuesday’s announcement opens a new chapter in the investigations into the Minnesota Democrat.
The controversy surrounding Omar’s finances began when a 2024 financial report estimated that Omar and Mynett had between $6 million and $30 million in assets, as Minnesota’s fraud scandal within the Somali community began to come to fruition.
The most significant change in the documents concerned Mynett’s assets. His reported stakes in his winery and venture capital consulting firm, which were previously valued in the millions of dollars, are now listed as worthless.
In Omar’s 2024 financial disclosure filings, Mynett’s share of his winery was valued between $1 million and $5 million, and his share in the venture capital consulting firm was valued between $5 million and $25 million. Now his holdings are both listed at $0.

Omar’s office previously told Fox News Digital that Mynett had partners in both companies and said the earlier disclosure mistakenly reflected the companies’ total equity rather than his stake. The office also said the initial filing listed assets without accounting for liabilities.
Mynett was a partner in a firm that worked on Omar’s 2020 re-election campaign. The two announced their marriage in March 2020.
This is Omar’s third marriage, but it is not the most controversial. The Democratic “Squad” was also criticized for her first marriage to a man many claim was her brother. Critics and skeptics say the two married as part of an immigration scheme.

When White House border official Tom Homan first announced a criminal investigation into Omar, many speculated that it would be linked to allegations that she married her brother to evade U.S. immigration laws. But a former federal prosecutor recently confirmed to Fox News Digital that the statute of limitations would make it difficult to open an investigation into the case.

A Department of Justice (DOJ) spokesperson told Fox News Digital that the court-authorized search warrant for the search of Omar’s home on Monday was obtained by the DOJ as part of an ongoing federal investigation.
