Jeanine Pirro says her office is investigating Ilhan Omar

Driving the news: Asked about an earlier ethics investigation into Office of Congressional Conduct financial records, which her office says cleared Omar, Pirro said Tuesday on Fox News’ “America Reports” that “is also under investigation.”

  • “It doesn’t matter what the House does. It doesn’t matter, you know, what this or that agency does. We look at the facts. Based on the facts, we will follow them wherever they take us,” she said, confirming that her office was handling the investigation.

Catch up quickly: Federal agents searched Omar’s home before dawn Monday as part of a separate immigration investigation, Ben Berkowitz of Axios reported.

  • Omar described the search in an article as “an attempt to target political enemies and militarize federal law enforcement.”
  • Trump has repeatedly attacked Somali immigrants, including Omar — whom he described in an article last year as “always wrapped in her swaddled hijab” and “the worst ‘congressman/woman'” in our country.

Zoom out: Omar’s office pointed Axios to last month’s Wall Street Journal report that the Office of Congressional Conduct recommended the House Ethics Committee reject allegations that she may have violated House rules or law by reporting false or incomplete information in her financial filings.

  • A disclosure filed last year indicated that Omar and her husband’s assets ranged from $6 million to $30 million.
  • She then changed the form to reflect a much lower range, the Journal first reported, citing what her team called accounting errors.
  • Pirro’s office did not respond to Axios’ request for comment.

What they say: After Pirro’s appearance on Fox News, Trump shared a post on Truth Social suggesting, without evidence, that Omar benefited from fraud in Minnesota.
