The Oriental Land Company and Disney have announced the name of the highly anticipated Disney Cruise Line ship arriving in Japan.
Disney imagination
The ship will be called Disney Imagination.

The Disney Imagination will embark on short cruises of 2-3 nights departing from the Tokyo International Cruise Terminal, aiming for cruise durations that can easily be part of a Tokyo Disney Resort vacation.

At the back of Disney Imagination, you will find character statues of Ariel and Sebastian. This will be the first Disney ship to not have Nassau as its home port written on the stern, instead marking Tokyo.

Construction of the ship’s hull began this month, in October 2026.
Disney Cruise Line and OLC have announced the ship will ship in 2024. Like most Disney Cruise Line ships, it will be built by Meyer Werft in Papenburg, Germany. This will be the fifth Wish-class ship, joining the Disney Wish, Disney Treasure, Disney Destiny and the upcoming Disney Believe. This means it will be the same size and rough layout as other ships in the class.
The ship operated by OLC will depart Tokyo, Japan from 2029. Establishment of OLC Disney Cruise Line Japan and entered into an agreement with Nippon Yusen Kabushiki Kaisha and Yusen Cruises Co., Ltd. to help them operate the ship.
OLC’s recent financial results outlined the vessel’s operating plans. They expect 2-4 night cruises departing from Tokyo International Cruise Terminal, priced between ¥100,000 and ¥300,000 per person.
This will be the second Disney Cruise Line ship sailing exclusively outside of Asia, following the Disney Adventure.
OLC has already teased a potential second ship.
