AJ Brown sends prayers and support to Jalen Hurts

Patriots receiver AJ Brown did not leave Philadelphia on the best terms with Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts. But Brown still wishes the best for Hurts, who is out for the season with several blood clots in his lungs.

“It’s a difficult situationman,” Brown said Tuesday, via Glenn Erby of USA Today. “I have a lot of love and respect for him, I pray for him. I didn’t know how serious it was. I think we’ve all figured it out, but he’s a badass. He’s a tough guy and he can handle anything. . . . He can handle it, and I pray that God continues to keep His hand on him. It’s a lot of love and respect that way.

Hurts and Brown played together for four seasons before the Eagles honored the wide receiver’s trade request on June 1.

Brown caught 339 passes for 5,034 yards and 32 touchdowns during his four seasons in Philadelphia, making two Pro Bowls and helping the Eagles win a Super Bowl.

Once close, they didn’t speak after the trade until a joint practice in August.
