Alan Bersten settles into his new role as Jenna Dewanthe partner of Dancing with the stars.
On Tuesday, October 20, the 32-year-old professional shared a carousel of Instagram photos from rehearsals with Dewan, 45. “I’m so honored to step up and dance with (Dewan),” he captioned the post. “You are such a light and it’s so beautiful to see you and your mother sharing the floor.”
Three of the images show Bersten and The rookie star dancing together, while another captures him bringing Dewan’s mother, Nancy Burschon the ground to join them. The last photo shows Dewan and Bursch sharing a laugh and a hug on a chair.
Bersten’s message follows a turbulent week for Dewan’s original partner, Val Chmerkovsky. As In touch previously reported, the show suspended Chmerkovskiy, 40, for a week after he posted a controversial Instagram message about the judge Carrie Ann Inaba.
The controversy began on Tuesday, October 13, when Inaba, 58, criticized the performance of Chmerkovskiy’s wife, Jenna Johnsonand his partner, Harry Shum Jr.
Chmerkovskiy responded by sharing a meme referencing Will Smith slaps Chris Roche at the 2022 Oscars. “You almost saw the Fresh Prince walk into the ballroom last night,” he wrote in the now-deleted post. He has since apologized to Inaba.
