Apple releases iOS 27.2 RC for iPhone

Apple has released the first release candidate of iOS 27.2 for iPhone. This update brings the next version of Apple’s iPhone software closer to its public launch.

iOS 27.2 reaches release candidate stage

After several beta versions, Apple is putting the finishing touches on iOS 27.2. If testing doesn’t reveal anything that requires another release, the release candidate could be the version that reaches everyone.

The beta cycle introduced Group FaceTime Dual Capture, more Siri AI languages, Apple TV app profiles, and changes to the way Apple Podcasts organizes episodes.

Apple Music also has a new app icon and updated color scheme. The black and white icon replaces the familiar red design, while blue now highlights the active tab in the app.

One feature Apple took away from testing is the revised Health app. It appeared in earlier beta versions of iOS 27.2 before Apple rolled back the previous Health app to Beta 4. The upgrade is still scheduled for release later this year.

We will update our coverage with any notable changes discovered in the release candidate. Have you spotted anything new in iOS 27.2 RC? Let us know in the comments below!
