Affleck has been full of praise for his two ex-wives, Jennifer Garner and Jennifer Lopez, speaking about their ability to monetize their personalities outside of their film and music careers.
“Now you have your social media identity. You work to grow it,” he said, adding, “I’ve seen Jennifer Lopez and Jennifer Garner do incredible work cultivating and increasing value in these spaces. Don’t think it’s not real work. I couldn’t do it. What am I going to do, unbox something?”

However, Affleck — who finalized his divorce from Lopez in February 2025 — said he believed the “On the Floor” singer was overlooked for her talents come awards season, particularly in her film. Kiss of the Spider Woman.

What I’ve found with awards is that sometimes the degree of commercial success of things doesn’t always match my tastes.
