North Carolina head coach Bill Belichick did not respond Monday when asked about rumors surrounding his potential split with Jordon Hudson.
“You work for a tabloid now?” he told reporters. “I will keep my personal comments and relationships to myself if that is okay with you.”
The relationship between Belichick, 74, and Hudson, 25, became something of a national fascination in 2025. In March of that year, reports surfaced that Belichick had asked Hudson to be copied on any email correspondence sent to him by the school.
A month later, when the head coach was asked about his relationship with Hudson during an interview on CBS Morningsshe ended these questions while sitting off to the side.
His proximity to the North Carolina football program has drawn scrutiny, to the point where podcast host and journalist Pablo Torre reported claims that Hudson had been banned from football facilities. North Carolina has denied this information.
Meanwhile, Belichick went 8-12 in two seasons as UNC head football coach. This year’s team is currently 4-4 and mired in a two-game losing streak following Saturday’s 38-35 loss to top-ranked Miami.
