Boyfriend arrested for murder of Christina Downer, sister of SNL writer

Two suspects have been arrested in connection with the murder of Christina Downer, the sister of “Saturday Night Live” writer Jimmy Fowlie, according to Los Angeles police.

Delorean Bijon Brandon, 41, Downer’s boyfriend, and Kaylee Nicole Markowski, 34, were arrested Thursday in Highland Park and Tarzana, respectively. Detectives believe Brandon and Markowski were responsible for Downer’s murder, then disposed of his body and covered up the crime.

Downer was reported missing after a welfare check on Dec. 18, 2025, and Brandon claimed she had moved out and left behind her car and dog.

The LAPD said law enforcement continues to investigate Downer’s disappearance after his cellphone washed up on the beach in Santa Monica. Authorities were led to search an Airbnb property in Joshua Tree, located in the high desert several hours from Los Angeles, in connection with her disappearance and conducted an extensive search with K-9 units and the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department.

Downer “is no longer alive,” his brother said April 29.

“Our prayers for her to be found safe have turned into prayers for the truth to be revealed and those responsible to be held accountable,” Fowlie’s April 29 message read. “We have reason to believe that in the weeks leading up to her disappearance, her phone and social media were compromised. The person(s) in possession of her phone used it to hide the fact that she was gone, to demand money, and to create a false story that she was going ‘off the grid.’
