A Brewers fan who purchased a “Timeless Ticket” in 2015 is waiting to find out if his ticket will give him access to a World Series game after nearly 12 years of waiting.
MILWAUKEE —
A Brewers fan who purchased a “Timeless Ticket” in 2015 is anxiously awaiting confirmation that his ticket will guarantee him a spot in the World Series at American Family Field.
Brewers fans are celebrating the team’s first-ever World Series at the stadium, but ticket prices have made attending games unaffordable for many.
“They’re just too expensive. I mean, we were looking at tickets. They’re thousands of dollars. So, I can’t afford them,” Brewers fan Maddie Hensel said Friday.
However, for a select few, their World Series tickets were purchased years ago through a unique promotion.
Nate Holzman, an Oak Creek native now living in Los Angeles, is one of those fans. Holzman, who attended Game 3 of the National League Championship Series on Wednesday, purchased his “timeless ticket” in 2015 for $1,000.
“I think I bought it the first day they went on sale because it seemed like a good idea. You could put down a thousand dollars and it would guarantee you a ticket to any next game you wanted,” Holzman said Friday.
The Brewers only sold 1,000 of these tickets, which also allows the holder to purchase three additional tickets at face value. Holzman, a longtime Brewers fan, said he’s been looking forward to this moment.
“If they can redeem this ticket for me and get me to the game like I’ve been imagining for 12 years, that would be the best thing ever,” Holzman said.
Holzman must submit a form by Saturday to collect his ticket and will know Monday which game he will attend and where he will be seated.
The Brewers confirmed they are honoring the “Timeless Ticket” trades. In a statement to 12 News, the team said it “worked diligently on all requests in the order they were received.”
After 12 years of waiting, Holzman is waiting a little longer to see if his dream will come true.
