The Tampa Bay Rays have dug themselves into a deep, deep hole heading into Game 4 of the 2026 World Series, as the Milwaukee Brewers hold a 3-0 series lead and are one win away from the first championship in franchise history. A victory would also make Milwaukee the first team to win the World Series since the 2012 San Francisco Giants and the first to sweep both the League Championship Series and the World Series since the LCS became a best-of-seven in 1985.
First pitch is scheduled for Tuesday at 8 p.m. ET at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Florida.

The Brewers continued their dismantling of the Rays with a 10-1 victory in Game 3 on Monday. Starting pitcher Robert Gasser allowed just one hit in six scoreless innings, facing the minimum, and Milwaukee broke it open with an eight-run fifth inning to take a 10-0 lead. By the time Tampa Bay got on the board in the ninth, the damage had long been done.
In Game 4, the Brewers will hand the ball to right-hander Dustin May (7-9, 4.70 ERA) with a chance to clinch. May’s last start came in Milwaukee’s only playoff loss, Game 3 of the NLDS against the San Diego Padres, in which he allowed 3 hits and 2 earned runs while striking out 3 in 3 innings.
The Rays will counter with right-hander Griffin Jax (8-10, 3.53 ERA) with their season on the line. He hopes to improve on his previous start against the Cleveland Guardians in the ALCS, in which he allowed 5 hits and 3 earned runs in 4 innings, including Petey Halpin’s two-run go-ahead run. Jax has a 6.00 ERA in six innings this postseason, including two in relief against the New York Yankees in the ALDS.

After suffering some velocity decline in the ALCS, Baker reached 94 with his first two fastballs. That’s an improvement, but still well below the 96-98 mph he showed earlier in the season.

It’s a scoreless seventh for DL Hall. Bryan Baker has eighth for the Rays.

The score is equal, but the quality of contacts is not equal.

Closer Bryan Baker warms up for the eighth inning for the Rays, who are certainly treating this like a playoff game.

DL Hall enters the game in the seventh inning for the Brewers, who still have Aaron Ashby and Trevor Megill rested in reserve.

Nick Martinez stays and posts a 1-2-3 inning. He’s on 33 pitches, and it’s probably safe to say he won’t start tomorrow if the Rays win here.

A starter from Game 1 has already appeared in this game, why not another one?

Junior Caminero finishes a perfect round for Abner Uribe. The right-hander is down to just 19 pitches in two innings after two days of rest, so we’ll see how aggressive the Brewers want to be there.

Oof, Jonathan Aranda smokes a 108.1 mph line drive…to Brice Turang at second base, who catches it and doubles Díaz at first. Two outs, none for Uribe after three pitches this inning.

Abner Uribe remains in the bottom of the sixth, which Yandy Díaz leads off with an opposite-field single.

Martinez posted a scoreless sixth inning on 18 pitches. We’ll see if he stays longer and how that affects his availability for Game 5 if the Rays win. He was on track to start this match.
