When Charli XCX revealed the cover of Music, fashion, cinemait had three heavyweights from each discipline: John Cale, Marc Jacobs and Martin Scorsese. Now the pop star and director have reunited for Scorsese’s upcoming film, What happens at night. Variety reports that the psychological thriller, which stars Jennifer Lawrence and Leonardo DiCaprio as a married couple who travel to a small European town to adopt a baby, will star Charli. The project, a co-production between Apple and StudioCanal, does not yet have a release date.
Despite the demand on the CFP follow “Camera” if it’s “fucking stupid if I try to be a girl on screen when I’m thirty-four”, Charli has had a big year on the big screen. She appeared in several films last year, including Gregg Araki’s I want your sexPete Ohs’ Erupjaand Aidan Zamiri’s mockumentary on “KID era,” The moment. She also wrote the soundtrack for Emerald Fennell’s film. Wuthering Heights (which featured his first collaboration with Cale, “House”) and co-wrote the music for A24’s Mother Mary.
