The Dallas Cowboys and Philadelphia Eagles will close out the Week 7 slate of games on “Monday Night Football” in an NFC East showdown at Lincoln Financial Field, with kickoff set for 8:15 p.m. ET.
Both franchises enter the week at 2-4 after a disappointing start to the year, but the division remains wide open as the New York Giants lead with a 3-2-1 record.

The Cowboys are coming off a disappointing loss Sunday night against the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field. After struggling on defense for most of the season, Dallas couldn’t get its offense going, held to just seven points before scoring a touchdown in garbage time with just 0:44 on the clock.
The Eagles, meanwhile, had their season upended last week after quarterback Jalen Hurts was placed on injured reserve while he undergoes treatment for deep vein thrombosis and blood clots in his lungs. Now it’s up to quarterback Tanner McKee to save the season. He threw for 215 yards and a touchdown in his third career start last week.

Saquon Barkley had runs of 12 and 29 yards on his first two touches since returning from a hamstring injury, and the Eagles are in business, deep in Cowboys territory.

Brian Schottenheimer made an interesting decision after a successful 55-yard field goal by Brandon Aubrey.
The Eagles were flagged for illegal formation on the kick, potentially putting the Cowboys on fourth-and-3 from the Philadelphia 32 with a chance to attempt a first down. But the points were on the board and Schottenheimer opted to keep them there for a 3-0 Cowboys lead after a 28-yard opening drive.
A wise decision with a chance of securing an early advantage.

1. What version of Saquon Barkley are we seeing? Barkley hasn’t played a full game since late September and he hasn’t scored a touchdown all year. Barkley has less help than usual, running behind an inferior offensive line and tied to an offense missing its quarterback and top receiver. But if Barkley’s hamstring is healthy, it’s a favorable matchup.
2. What is the record of Dallas receivers? We still expect receivers to be the variance position in fantasy, but even with that, CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens have posted inconsistent performances this year. Philadelphia’s pass defense has been average.
3. Will a pass catcher step up for the Eagles? With DeVonta Smith and Dontayvion Wicks unavailable, this is a key issue for Philadelphia. Rookie Makai Lemon hasn’t done much yet, while Dallas Goedert has been solid between injuries. Keep an eye on Darius Cooper, who somehow manages four touchdowns on just 15 targets. The teams shredded the Dallas secondary.

On Sunday, the 49ers ā devoid of quality receiving options ā plotted all week to put Christian McCaffrey in the slot and move far enough out of the backfield to be used as a primary pass-catching option (at least, until he was injured doing so).
The Eagles aren’t sharp enough to pull off that kind of plan on short notice, but the general idea is that throwing to Barkley will be another way to get their best player in space. This will provide an easy outlet for McKee, while taking pressure off their makeshift offensive line ā a unit that has struggled to create holes for runners.

Eagles star running back Saquon Barkley will officially return to the lineup Monday night after missing two games with a hamstring injury he suffered in Week 4. He returned to practice this week as a limited participant on Thursday and Friday before being upgraded to “full” on Saturday.
He was officially listed as questionable on the final injury report, but according to Lisa Salters of ESPN, “Saquon Barkley told me he feels good enough to try out tonight, but he’ll try to be smart about his return.”
He’ll run behind an offensive line that gets one of its starters back Monday night, as guard Landon Dickerson returns from injured reserve with a knee injury.
