AUGUSTA, Ga. – Dozens of Crumbl Cookies locations are closing, including one in Augusta.
According to a Restaurant Business report, at least 57 establishments have closed their doors this year, and more are at risk. The outlet also reported that at least 55 franchises were up for sale.
The Augusta location on Cabela Drive, across from Costco, recently closed. Locations in Grovetown and Evans, however, remain open.

The closures come even after Crumbl, known for its rotating line of cookies, launched dirty sodas to generate sales. Rather than improving sales, unit volumes declined by approximately 16%.
Overall, sales didn’t look any better. USA Today reported that sales in August were 70% lower than two months earlier.
Co-founders Sawyer Hemsley and Jason McGowan left the company earlier this year.
However, the company has more than 1,000 locations and 29,000 employees, according to its website.

Crumbl was founded in 2017 in Utah and generated $1 billion in revenue each year in its first seven years, Restaurant Business reported. The company went viral during and after the pandemic and became widely known for its pink boxes on social media.
